Exercise Science, M.S.


Learning Outcomes


  • Master of Science students will describe the relationship among physical activity, functional capacity, health and disease across the life span.
  • Master of Science students will write a paper addressing a specific research question(s) within exercise science.
  • Master of Science students will describe the research design and statistical procedures used in exercise science.
  • Master of Science students will demonstrate laboratory proficiency through written and practical evaluations.
  • Master of Science students will describe the physiological changes that occur during a single session of exercise and the physiological adaptations that take place with repeated exercise sessions and how environmental conditions influence these responses.
  • Health Aspects of Physical Activity Master of Science students will describe the relationship between physical activity, behavior and health.
  • Motor Control and Rehabilitation Master of Science students will describe the relationship between age and motor skill acquisition in healthy and special populations.
